no recon required for EXHAUST ONLY. did you get a ticket and what does it say? if you got other recon items like suspension, then your exhaust becomes one.

do you happen to hangout with those other guys in the town center parking lot prior to school starting? I usually see a wrx, integra (w/mismatch wheels), and a few civics kickin it before school starts.

you should thank him for not giving you a ticket. and you may not want to hear this but if your suspension is modified, then you do need a recon. it's a hassle but it's not that hard to get. pls refer to Reid's recon sticky.

He can't give you a ticket for recon on your exhaust, but he can ticket you for excessive noise... Which is a purely subjective charge. We don't have local tools to measure it, so it'd have a hard time standing up in court, but then again, who the heck has time to waste going to court...

BTW, they're right, you could still get a recon ticket for your drop, maybe the cop didn't see it this time, but next time he may...

Kurt, I'd just save yourself the trouble and go get Recon. IIRC, you're car was just lowered on springs right? All you need to do is to get an alignment and make sure your tint is legal. It's should be pretty easy, and will also make getting safety check a lot easier as well. That way, when a cop is following you, you won't have to worry about being pulled over. Trust me, this is coming from a guy that has gotten more Recon tickets than I would like to remember.

^ I would have figured the cops would just be so astounded at the amount of rubber you managed to fit in such a small space that they wouldn't give you the tickets.

But yeah man, grab recon. I actually had a cop say to me the other day ( while I was getting my first speeding ticket ) "Hey, why did you get Recon?" I told him I was lowered a tiny bit on springs and after he said he couldn't tell he then said that he found it amazing that I had gotten recon on my vehicle and he pulls over slammed (insert vehicle here) all the time without it, when it's so easy to get. He took 10mph off my ticket for that, which resulted in a $80 reduction in my ticket!

What I'm trying to say is: Get RECON!

Bummers.......but on a happy note.......Welcome to Hawaii! Just kidding bro. But, yeah I passed recon with my Coilovers, so you should have no issues.

Yeah, that was back in October though. Was too used to driving 85mph on the freeway back home. I'm a quick learner though, now whenever I get on the freeway I just set cruise control and start singing to the music to pass the time.

+1. The recon techs are pretty cool; they won't fail you unless they absolutely have to (i.e. your suspension is WAY too stiff or you act like a jerk in front of them ). The only hard part may be getting an appointment.

^ Same, and had to go back twice. It was worth it in the end though.
