Question Question about catless Subaru up-pipe

sup guys,

I bought Pat's catless uppipe (no egt bung), and i have a few questions before I install.

1. there's a little surface oxidixation on one mounting surface (turbo). Should i sand it finely or not? Will this affect getting a good seal (i'm using new gaskets btw)?

2. The resistor mod calls for a 2.2k ohm resistor, but what wattage is best? I have heard people using 1/2 and 1 watt.

3. Since i have time, is it worth it to get it jet-hot coated or similar? If yes, can anyone recommend a place to do this?

4. There's a couple of ugly tack welds inside the pipe, should i grind these down to improve airflow, or is that more trouble than its worth?

Thanks in advance for all the good info i'm bound to receive.

Will,

I can't answer your questions, but like I said before, if for whatever reason you find you don't like it, or it causes you problems I'll give you your money back.

1. Definitely get that surface as smooth as possible.
2. I used a 2.2k ohm 1/4 or 1/2 watt resistor (can't remember exactly) - both are fine.
3. Better? Yes... Worth it? Arguable.
4. Probably more trouble than it's worth.

Aloooooooooooooooha and enjoy!
Richard...

you may encounter cat efficiency DTC in the future- jusst contact push 2- he may have the cure for that.
