Also bumping cuz I'm guessing he's talking about my drivetrain.

I wanted to know also if the tank swaps between chassis. I doubt it but has anyone tried?

BTW ****, post this Q in the tech forums too.

"--my personal pervious experiance in swaps;

2002 - FWD-> awd gas tank / disc brake conversion on 93 impreza"

Looks like some say yes, some say no, but these are what people think, not what they have done. Most people are saying legacy and forrester tanks work for sure... odd.

well first of all what is the reason for the swap.

understandably it is a newer engine and it's a 2.0L instead of a 1.8 but is that it?

as I stated on the phone with you shaggy. there is ways to "make it fit" you need to do some research on the length of the chasis. if your chasis is substantually shorter than brandy's RS then it should be clear that it will NOT fit

If it doesn't fit are there ways that you can source an AWD version of your car just for the gas tank/rear x-member...etc.

you would still be able to use brandy's setup but you'll have to source those parts first you know?

good luck

Jon

The length is not in question... I've already checked into this when considering an STi into GC swap and confirmed that is the same. The only thing I could never confirm from someone who actually did the conversion was if the rear x-member and gas tank bolted up. The x-member looks to be the same visually, but I haven't seen the gas tank out of a GC yet.

Also this is a 2.5L engine, so the reason for the swap would be more power (around +60hp and torque) + AWD.
