It is good to know that they have already arrived in stores even though they aren't releasing it to the general public.
I'm looking forward to getting it on Wednesday but I'm more eager to race for real on 12/12. Video game skills don't mean shiet if you can't back it up in the real world.

I concur. I played games to learn Tsukuba, Fuji, Laguna Seca, Suzuka, etc., and remember every turn. The only factor if I do drive there in real life is if the car is set up for it and getting used to elevation changes. And just like Kiyoshi said, its just like a simulator for pilots more or less. Even though I don't fly in my career, I've flown the C17 in our simulator and it

So how's everyone take on it so far?
Reviews have been harsh and I cant shake the feeling is because they expected TOO much. Some are saying Forza 3 is better (which I didn't like at all, I don't care what anyone says, ****ty graphics, poor car modeling, average physics)
Still waiting to pick up my copy later today, but I played GT5 Prologue for hours and hours and never got tired of it. GT5 will absorb me.

GT5 is going to be harshly critiqued, simply because it was originally a Title release.. In other words, as all PS3 users know, it was supposed to be a release when the consoles first arrived.
Nonetheless, I can't wait to snag my copy today. Its already paid off!
On a side note- Any local feedback on the game yet?

One thing that personally disapoints me that the GT series never gets right: engine noise. They still all sound exactly the same, even in GT5. I know it may sound trivial to most of you here, but it's a huge reason I prefer Forza, and even NFS: Shift. Sure, Shift may be an "arcade" racer, but NO ONE has done engine noises better than EA.
I'm still not sure if I want this game now, because another thing I can't stand is long loading times, which a lot of people seem to be complaining about. And the whole premium vs regular cars thing is a big turn-off too.
