Okay I was holding off, but you ARE THE DUMBEST **** I have met. I thought that all of the stories of you driving around with a shifter that pops out, and various other things must have been exaggerated. I now see that they were not. When I saw your headlights I almost **** myself. Everyone gets thrashed on the boards so don't take this personally, I know I don't when someone talks **** to me. Easy Street is GAY! They are 2 days old in the Subaru business compared with the rest of the world which has been tuning subarus for over 10 years. There is no American company that has the knowledge that the Aussies, Japanese, and British have with tuning our cars. Who cares if your car is dyno tuned, it wasn't tuned for Hawaii. It still should run well but not as it well as it ran under the same climate it was tuned it. The people you are trying to say don't know what they are talking about are Pat, and Dan are two of the most knowledgeable and respected guys that are in HIIC. By no means and I saying they know the most, but they do know more than me, and we all know you are wrong. http://www.turbosmart.com.au/research.htm go to that site and read. Go to ESX website, they even say, "Home of the worlds fastest NEW GENERATION wrx."

The fastest Subaru in the would lives in Australia and it runs 8.88 @ 154 as the site says. The car is still using the 4EAT trans, and like pat said it is a wagon, so why would a WAGON have an STi wing?

Read and weep:

Greg,

What does the number of post have to do with anything? Why do so many people base anything off of post count? Maybe it has to do with the fact that I've been posting in the HIIC since well before it was only owned by Imprezer. If you look at the HIIC on what used to be called the i-club (now known as Nasioc), you'll see that I have another 2k over there.

What is your intent here? Are you defending this guy, whom I'd imagine is most capable of defending himself, by pulling out your own 6 guns to fight the flames?

There aren't any flames in this thread; we are simply trying to teach.

Esx344,

Here's the car you are referring to. I don't know where you're going with the inverted hoodscoop and lack of wing:

Granted, your theory is fine, but you are talking about tactics that would drop hundredths at best and would look a little corny. General old wives tail rule: 100lbs = on tenth. I grant you that if you took off an STi's wing, it is pretty heavy, but you've just taken off .005 of a second. The hoodscoop will most likely increase drag, but it serves a decent purpose. You'd do just as well for your car and your time slips by ensuring that you turn your car off while waiting in line...maybe even put some ice on your IC while you're in the pits.

There is one way and one way only that you will be setting records with your car. That's if you select a larger turbo with proper engine management to ensure that you are safe (and are getting the most power possible out of your car.) It sounds as though you are already on the right track, but your comment about buying a boost controller (on top of your reflash) made me a little nervous. You realize that the ECUTEK manages boost, right?

Typically in most cases the Factory system, when re tuned correctly (with EcuTeK software) to suit, is better. Best consult your local tuner as all cars and modifications vary.

Does an EcuTeK retune effect my boost?
Depending on your Model, yes it may, but generally this is a very modest change as boost is one of the many settings that is improved. At all times safety is of utmost Priority.
Greg does bring up one good point, though. It doesn't do anybody much good to talk smack; just bring it to the track and speak with your actions. The timeslip says volumes.

If you're at all curious about my background with the WRX, I'd be happy to discuss what I've broken.

Had a clean launch w/ clean shifts 1 thru 5, my only run for the night...cant wait to run some race gas w/ the 100 octane map, and a little less weight next week. Looks like 12.5s or 12.4s is possible! YEEHAAA!
Awesome!

Edit: I suck at the internet.

Yeah, 12.79. I guess I'd developed my launch to the point where I eventually shredded my 1st gear, though (twice.) On my shifting, I knew I was really getting to the point where I knew my car because on my UTEC logs, the throttle position during each shift was like 100, 0, 100.

It's an excel file so you'd have to right click/save as.

the "beauty" of ecutek is that is uses the stock brain, remaps it, and it still learns. i had the car tuned for three days before i brought it home. when my car was dyno tuned they tuned it for 4 diffrent maps, ones ill be able to control with a delta dash made by ecutek, plus i have the program on my laptop so i can retune for super go fast mods. and my car works just fine in these conditions i guarantee it. :P

yeah thats the car, when the driver pulled his record run, he had turned the scoop turned around cowl style and the wing was off.
