Prepping for hawaiis fastest streetcar shootout
Looks like the next event is coming up later on this month! Trying to sqeeze every little bit of power/performance out of this scooby! How much does the passenger seat and back seats weigh? also...is it easy to remove and replace? I think I can run a 12.4 with a little weight loss from this vehicle...already ordered my lightweight battery, might even consider a carbon fiber trunk ...probably. Any suggestions....something easy to do, a quick tweakage.

seats are heavy (hard to get out of your not careful and can scratch paint and interior plastic pieces) kind of a hassel but still easy to do. Not enough weight to make a difference though
If you start taking everything out of your car I don't think you can be considered a "Streetcar"
12.4 with just the current modifications that you have and a small amount of weight reduction is kinda hard to believe but, if you do it then that would be awesome!

i talked with my tuner the other day about this event and he said get a boost controller and run 2 more pounds of boost(for my car), get a intercooler chiller (roughly 20-40 hp more), grounding kit, and of course making it more light weight.
the seats come out easy and go back in easy, all of them. make sure you have someone there helping you though cuz u can scratch paint and moldings. take your wing off, take your scoop off. if i get my car into the 12's before this event im going to enter if not id be glad to give you a hand, if want you can take your car apart at the track and put it in my truck so its safe, unless you do it before hand. i dunno let me know!

Take off the doors, trunk, hood, sway bars, bumpers and all the glass.
Then cut 5" holes all over the car.
Then take off your brakes
Then install a solid rocket booster into the rear.
That should be about it....

It is braket racing, so I don't know what anyone would want to run better times for, times don't matter consistancy does. Your seats have almost no weight. The front one is somewhat heavy, but the rear seat is ultra-light. It weight about 5 pounds. There is not that much weight to pull out of the car and still have a "streetable" car. Heck pull your cat-back exhaust off. It is useless to you and that is a TON of weight. You can't turn the scoop around, and even if you could the scoop is there for a reason. Scrolling down I was waiting for someone to say something like tear your intercooler off, that is what taking your scoop would esentially do. No cool air would make it to the intercooler. Blakes last post was the best. Oh and the STi rear seat is much lighter than the wrx's because it has no pasthrough.
