I went to Hi-Tech for ceramic coating of my exhaust and header. Their work was excellent. Just my $0.02.

Car Info: It has wheels!
I had my headers ceramic coated at HI - Tech also, and was very pleased.
A co-worker here uses them for his motorcycle frames and has also done some wheels there. I'm not sure what he paid, but he was pleased with the work.

I paid a "rush" premium of $25 to have it done immediately, only because most people aren't looking for ceramic coating. I haven't dealt with the other shop, but I can tell you my Hi-Tech ceramic coated headers are still looking great. It's not like I clean them, but they look about the same as they did when I picked them up. That was about four years ago.

I have to agree with San, Hi-Tech ceramic coat still looks good on my car. I had my headers, up-pipe and down-pipe done.

Good price for blast and powder coat, especially on Oahu.

For you guys with ceramic coated headers from Hi-Tech, how does this compare to Swain Tech or JetHot? Is Hi-Tech's coating functional (keeps the heat in the header) or just for show?

TIA,

-Ken

Without a digital thermometer and multiple headers to compare side by side, how could you compare the different coating vendors? Calculate the shipping costs to them mainland and add that to the mix. I had a set of headers I sent to the mainland that were ruined by the coating company and had to wait for the replacement set. Stock block, FMIC, TBE, stock turbo, and equal-length headers I was still quicker than STIs at the track. I honestly can't compare Swaintech or JetHot (who broke my headers) to Hi-Tech. It would very expensive to do a comparison and frankly, I don't have that kind of cash right now.

Why go mainland and pay the extreme prices? Hi-tech did my upipe and shorty downpipe and still look as they did new. Great price and on the island without the shipping prices to mainland costs.
