Powder Coating Rims

I just got mine done at Mekala for $320+tax for two sets of wheels. They came out really good.

The guy there is really helpful and showed me his shop. They have a pretty good selection of colors. Go and check out 'black chrome'. It looks like a deep gunmetal and has a clearcoat too.

wow those wheels came out great. I'll definitely contact them since I never knew about them until now. I only knew of hi-tech and I heard they are kinda pricey.
to bad they don't have a color selection on their website

$40 a wheel plus tax.
The tires obviously have to be dismounted. The wheels should be free of grease or anything oily so it doesn't contaminate his sandblasting media.
If they are powdercoated already, it is difficult to remove the powdercoating so he may charge more. But if it is just painted, it is fine. I actually had several coats of two different colors on my wheels and it was no problem.
The turn around time is kinda long though; 7-10 business days. I think it took about a week for mine.
