Depending on which way you want to go, gas or electric. Could run you anywhere between $200-$400. Don't forget maintenace & upgrades. There's endless possibilities. It can turn out to be a pretty expensive hobby if you really get hooked on it. I love it though. Since there's no race track for us to race our full scale cars, this is kinda like my speed outlet. What other vehicle can you go all out with at a park or large parking lot and not get a ticket?

i got out of it for a while....maybe if i find spare change ill get back into it...though...gonna go with an electric one...sure the nitro aspect was fun...but maintenance wise, to me it was more work...fuel...tuning...glow plugs.. as well as getting the chassis dirtier...
electric wise...man those brushless motors are awesome! and hella fast! usually ebay has some great deals....
things to also think about when buying parts...the stock plastic pieces are most forgiving when you start banging into things...
aluminum and steel add weight...
the carbon fiber...stiff, strong and light but not very forgiving when you bang into things. makes the car really responsive as well...

after getting busted by the cops running a nitro last friday, i ended up rebuilding an electric car. great stuff, much lighter than gas, and has very responsive steering!! if you are into grip, foam tires is a MUST!!however, i dont miss charging batteries and....

Well I resized them all but for some reason a couple of them wont change so sorry.
Heres my 3yr old TL01LA. Just did a new shell of the coppermix silvia. and im using the pink one to bash with. Mods are front one-way, tightened rear diff, carbon prop. nothing real fancy. Using ABS as it grips and slips really well on concrete, it sucks on asphalt though. I didnt install the light buckets yet on the green one, and dont mind the smoke stacks lol.
