Plans for nonskid road top aim to halt Tantalus drifters
#20
It is...it really is. Hell here in Cincinnati there are at least 5-6 actual road courses. Plus there's a bunch of ovals as well as Kentucky Speedway and Indianapolis.

Vote for me when I run for State Leg in a few years.
Legalized gambling to pay for state services. Universal healthcare, (Those who know me know that I get paid BIG from Macau every year for just being born there because of their gambling tax profits), profit sharing in the form of tax returns.
Non-residents(military excluded) can not buy property until they have consistently lived in Hawaii for 5 years.
Halt the Rail and put in a toll-based elevated expressway above the H1. Minimal exits(will have to figure out the merging problem) and 50c toll cost. If you need to get somewhere fast, you'll pay it. Our rail takes too long to make. Okinawa and Zhuhai-Macau rail lines are 3-4x longer than ours and was built under 5 years. 2019 for our rail is really stupid.
No more bone-headed stuff like HEY LETS PUT anti slip coating on Tantalus to deter "drifters". These residents there are in for a RUDE surprise when the grip racers come in.
Funding for motorsports activities!

Sounds like an easy fix but it isn't, it'll still get backed up at all the exits. Sure it'll increase the speed at which cars will get to town but then with all the extra cars at once there's still going to be a backup of cars trying to get into town, not to mention town traffic in the morning. There are just too many cars on the road period.

off topic, sorry.
you would be suprised how much two little things would help H1 traffic:
enforse turn signal usage. $250 fine
pisses me off that cops do nothing about people failing to signal, when in actuality it causes way more accidents than speeding.
idiot changes lanes without signaling...person they cut off slams brakes, person behind that person then changes lanes without signaling repeating the problem. causing a back up because of a couple morons.
make drivers prove that the can properly merge before being licensed.
nothing holds up traffic more than an idiot stopping at the end of a freeway entrance ramp. then dumbasses on the freeway slow down or stop to let the moron in.
push the fu(king gas, signal, and move over between cars.
and as for reducing the number of cars:
The rail is a joke. It is to aquire federal money and line the pockets of a few pre-selected contractors only. Who here works with government contracting on a regular basis??? I do.
Even a full capacity operating at 100 precent efficiency during rush hour traffic, the rail will alleviate less than 2% of traffic. 10 billion dollar waste, but it would make some friends of some politicians a lot of money. They will go golf and buy another house and laugh about it.
Has anyone ever seen a Honolulu transportation project come in under budget or on schedule?
My guess will be 20 years and 15 billion...and it will still be a turd that is not run properly.
(H4 toll road) Build a bridge from fort weaver, across ford island, to town with massive parking structure and a few small rail systems that distribute to the hot spots. Provide plenty of secure bicycle parking in the parking structure. Go ahead and throw in another
road from aiea (H4B)that merges above ford island, and then were talking results.
this would cost less than the rail, cost less to operate and maintain, and would drastically reduce traffic.
and as for the sand paper on the road.... haha.
that makes less sense than the fence down kam highway in pearl city/ aiea
The purpose of the fence is to keep people from jay walking and getting hit by cars.
Chances are, if a person is jay walking across kam highway and is stupid enough to get hit by a car...we are better off without them. and they are probably on welfare, so it would actually save us money twice if they didnt put the fence up.
