I sort of started last night by trying to slide them around. It's more difficult than it looks.

I think I'll head to Sears now...although the one here kind of sucks.

If they don't have it a auto parts store should have it.

Sears did have them.

Wow, how much easier could it be? I need to call V-Rod to ask him something before I go any further. I'll drop the pistons back in tomorrow and secure them to the rods.

Hey Jeremiah,

The mechanic (while he's no sub-sonic, he does seem to at least be satisfactory) told me that he doesn't use any sealant for putting the headgasket on. Is that right?

I'm hearing about this stuff called Fuji Bond, but I'm not absolutely certain which parts need it or need any other type of sealant.

It's going to be a huge pain getting the transmission out. I'm not looking forward to that.

I have only pulled two or three heads off cars and I didn't use sealeant only because it is usually a metal head gasket and the water and oil jackets line up directly. You don't want the possibility of any sealent getting in a water jacket or oil jacket but you should be safe with a very small amount. Wa there any on there when you took it apart?

No.

I'm wondering what other areas I will need to put sealant.

There are 'plugs' that you have to take off in order to access the wrist pins. There wasn't any sealant there, just a little rubber gasket.

I don't know. The only places I can think of are those places along the exhaust path, head covers, heads to headers, headers to uppipe, uppipe to turbo, turbo to dp....

Sure. I'm going to most likely need another pair of hands to jerk out the transmission. I may get it done on my own, but on the other hand, I'm pretty lazy.

As of now, I believe I should be able to bolt on the heads, cam gears, intake manifold. We'll see.
