PDX will be back in March!
I will be creating a new post soon...
Jarrad will be back in March.
Due to unforseen issues with my car, I was unable to tune this past session...We will be bringing Jarrad back in March...so get your cars ready!
We already have 6 solid tunes spots taken including me and a few other OG's...
No excuses getting your car ready or low funds...be ready and let me know if you want a spot for March.

Yeah...but all is well...if we did not discover these flaws then I would have had major problems...
Besides...now, I can look for a bigger turbo to put in...heh heh...I do like the 18g turbo in the 2.5l though...lag-free power from the bottom end up...

^^^Several things...
While Ryan (Vakamon) was installing the Cusco Engine and Transmission mounts for me, he noticed several things...
1. The Turbo was only supported by the up-pipe and down-pipe...the turbo brackets were missing. This caused a crack in the up-pipe...which now needs to be removed and welded.
2. The turbo/downpipe connection was only being held together by 3 bolts...the two lower bolts are either missing or sheared off...I need to remove the turbo to check and install new studs.
3. The turbo oil return line was jerry rigged something awful...need to replace that hose asap.
4. The fourth was what really scared me...Ryan noticed a thumping inside the timing belt cover that appeared very recently as I didn't notice until he pointed it out...I was thinking...great, need to replace the belt/idler pulleys, tension pulley, water pump, etc....
I worked on #4 yesterday and today...and realized that the fmic piping was forced up against the timing belt cover which pushed the cover into the pulleys inside...causing a portion of the cover to melt onto the metal pulley...I took a razor blade and removed the melted plastic build up from the pulley, cleaned up the cover and...no more noise...Phew...saved some money there.
Tomorrow Brad is going to come over and we are going to remove the header/up-pipe/turbo...install the bracket. After I get the up-pipe welded up and the studs put in the turbo...we'll put it back together...then I have to wait till March....argh....
This is the inherent danger in buying used cars...you always have to fix another person's mistakes/neglect/problems...luckily, so far, most of the issues with this car have been minor...missing this, clean up that...fix this, replace that...eh...keeping me on my toes and out of trouble...it's great to have good friends that don't mind turning a wrench or giving me moral support...it's been a roller coaster ride since I bought this car...wish I had the ole STI's...both the 04 and 05 I had were awesome!
