Pat - Brake info......
Here's what I was going to do with my WRX.....
1) STi OEM 4-pot calipers (front kit) - around $600
2) Some slotted rotors - around $400
3) SS Brake lines - around $100
4) Some Motul fluid - around $40

Look into the Baer brake upgrade. I'm seriously considering it for the Legacy. It uses the C5 Corvette calipers and nice, big rotors (13", probably 1.1" thick - that's the typical size Baer uses). The calipers might not be as pretty as the Stoptech calipers, and Baer doesn't offer 2-piece rotors, but for half the price that's fine with me. The C5 has some pretty potent brakes, so I'm sure they'd be up to the task on a WRX (or Legacy 
).

I don't see a kit on
Baer's site. Personally, I think the two-piece rotors are worth the extra price. Since DBA makes rotors for Baer, I would think Baer can "upgrade" to the DBA two-piece rotors for a little extra.

I emailed Baer about 6 or 8 weeks ago, and as of then they did not offer a 2-piece upgrade. I didn't ask if they intended to in the future, but it wouldn't surprise me - they do for most of their kits.

two piece rotors are better but the cost goes up as well. I'd say stick with the single piece rotor and see if fade is still an issue. More then likely it wont be. Your going from an 11inch to a 13" rotor, that should be enough to warrant better stopping power, providing your tires are up to snuff.
As for my argument of 4 pots not being worth it.... your still handicapped with the stock sized rotor. Not going to help brake fade is it? On top of that, the 4pots exert the same amount of force as the stock two pots. But you do get better/equal pad pressure thats the only benefit I see.

I beg to disagree with you, Mitch. The 4-pots are an improvement over the stock WRX calipers and a huge jump for the RS. Yes, the rotors may be the same size, but I've driven with both the stock WRX brakes/ rotors on my RS as well as the 4-pot conversion. There is a definite difference between the two. With the right fluid and SS lines, they are not bad for the price...
