We don't ask to go to these places, we are ordered and we serve with pride. Most people that have anti military sentiments blame us...or treat us like we made the decisicion to "attack" another nation and end up spitting on the men and women in uniform.
So it is nice to fell appreciated
BTW Navy here as well, but I do not disrespect those that carry a gun and go directly into the face of danger....those folks are my heroes too.

He said a much prouder "service" not UNIT. I know a lot of aspiring Army soldiers and all they talk about is specific units, most say they will resign their commissions if they are stuck doing something else. That is where the prouder service comes in.
For most of us it is good enough to simply have the honor of being a Marine.
This was not intended to be a crack at the Army, because the aforementioned units deserve great respect.

It is but like every other I-club thread, it has wandered off topic. If the people here didn't care about the military I doubt they'd have opened the thread to begin with.

I've noticed that this forum has a hard on for special forces. Nothing against all those members that are/were special forces but it gets a little old sometimes but my user name probably paints some picture of my satisfaction with my chosen method of serving this country.

Too old for Buds, I do my job and am proud of my service to our country.
I have nothing but respect for those Special Operations units that go out an Get it Done, and those that are on the ground now in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Some people can't have any fun. I can understand your frustration FTN, but some peeps do have a military funny bone sometimes...
