Thumbs up OT: Shell

Well I've been using Shell gasoline forever. Recently tried a few tanks of 76 because I've heard great things. With Shell V-Power I get 300+ miles when it reaches 1/4 tank. With 76 I only got 260-280. Didn't notice any power differences, just thought I'd share with you guys.

Yep, same thing I've been seeing on my cars. I used to use Chevron but got similar numbers as yours.

I have been using chevron always, read the thread so gas light came on and went to shell. Going to put it to the test. I was getting about 240 to 260 to the tank in my STI.

i used to pull the b.s. flags on "what types of gas to use" theory...but then after reading some information on how octane ratings are obtained... i'm wondering if there is a significant amount of "error of margin" when it comes to our engines and their requirements.. i know the MY04 STi's were mapped for 93 (and we were told in our training manuals to "address the issue on a need to know basis")

so this Shell gas of which you speak... i will test their gas for 90 days. i have been testing 76 for 2 months...and i consitently have been getting 17mpg averages...
