Erica,
Do you think the old oval dirt track guys could teach us anything, or be willing to help out? Or are we afraid they might ruin all the efforts made just like they are doing for the efforts at P24?
Maybe a meeting may be in order sometime in january so everyone can sort (no pun intended) everything out and see where it all stands? You could also get a list going to scrounge up some numbers to show the interested parties? Unless it is past that stage already.
Oh sorry Andy for the T- jacking.

If this gets off the ground, I know of a couple of beaters that I might be willing to turn into rally-x cars, probably FF though. Too expensive to rally-x a AWD car let alone a STi.
I hear guys complain that the Maui track is too rough, I'd like to see real rallly-x take place. If you think our track is tough on equipment wait til you go off-roading at Solo speed.
I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, IMO it's all talk.

We have a small group ready to go so we may start off and when everyone else gets comfortable/confident in us they can join in.
We have the numbers & legalities taken care of so no worries there. Just waiting for everything to clear, this kinda stuff takes time.
The plan was to start organizing again in January. Some of the info on this thread seemed to raise a lot of confusion so we had an early start
OK guys & gals thanks for the input and we will see you at a meet in the upcoming months, training, or at an event.

Yeah...Erica is right. Just calm down a bit...there's alot of speculation going round, and there's still some things to get nailed down before there'll be any announcements.
The critical thing is knowing that there's a group of people that are highly interested, as well as dedicated to bringing this here, and they're going to be working hand-in-hand with people who have the knowledge, equipment, etc...to make this a reality.
There should be some excitement about this...no doubt.

This is going to be a lot of fun. If people on here find the time check out FRX, As mentioned there is also endless amounts of information on dirtyimpreza.
Most if the car damage concerns that have been brought up depend on the surface. We are not planning on having jumps and will have so called rut control.
Depending on how well we are able to prep the dirt it may not be much different from autocross. So please do not be scared off by these comments that are not based on any facts since our surface is not finalized yet.
Hope to see everyone at our first meet

I know this is making some people very happy since after they get some sun and get dirty they can hit the beach
Or as my family says "We will be at the beach while you are at RallyX"

But this is all still very new, and there's a lot to work through...it's a bit too early to start asking for all the nitty-gritty details because there's nothing more than a framework up at the moment. We still have alot to sift through, but we'll keep everyone informed as it shapes up. Erica has a great website she'll be able to provide details on, as well as the KRP & BTT sites, too, so just give us a bit of time to get it all worked out. Thanks all.

Yepz...there needs to be interim events until we can get the asphalt laid down, so what better way to introduce the park to the public than through some rally-style events? I know we're all jonesing for something new and exciting, and what Erica is proposing is a great fit. She'll have a great group of experienced support personnel behind her...so you can bet it's going to be fun! This also is going to cater to a broad crowd...there's lots of dirt track fans that will most likely have an interest in this, including the stock car fans mentioned above...it's not just autocross peeps only! This has the full support of the KRP/P24 team which includes a huge cross section of motorsports in Oahu.
