Dood! If you are all talk, why aren't you out at auto-x? Your car is set up for street...so..........

Usually punishing your car on rally-x is a hell of a lot more punishing than racing it during an auto-x. I'm happy that everyone is so interested in this...but you guys REALLY have to sit and think about racing and (more than likely) damaging your STi's or WRX's during a rally-x. If you still owe money on your car, I wouldn't do it. A LOT of things (frame, suspension, etc.) can be damaged.

I'm not saying don't do it. I'm just saying think about it before opening your mouth and talking it up. In the end, it's up to you and it's your car. I wouldn't use my STi or Forester for it...that's just me.

You know, a lot really depends on what kind of track/terrain we'd be racing on. If it was flat loose gravel and dry sand like kapolei and triangle park, it'd be mostly cosmetic damage and a lot of rock chips, if it were mud and normal soil, then expect deep ruts to form during the runs and the very real possibility of suspension damage and even roll overs, and don't even think about it if there were jumps. I mean, how fast do are they really going to let us go out there? The idea of working cones on a course with a bunch of inexperienced nuts ( myself included ) on a low grip surface at high speeds is nothing short of terrifying.

Really, though, joey and I aren't trying to **** on anyones parade, but these are some things that anyone who is thinking about running or organizing an event like this would have to watch out for.

Before any assumptions are made I bought my car because of what an sti is used mainly for, which is rally. Reason why my car is setup for street is because there is no place to rally-x. But when there is a rally-x then by all means I will put back my rally setup. Even though my car is set up for street, I still rip it up in the dirt, gravel, mud, and sand. I know all the consequenses of what might happen to my car if I rallied it.

I was one of those who did not raise their hands at yesterdays drivers meeting at autocross. I understand Subaru's heritage in rally, but I for one cannot subject my STi to rallycross. Orange cone welts can be polished off, but not dents and rock chips, I love my baby too much. You need a dedicated car to compete in as well as more money to replace abused/broken parts. Autocross suits me just fine, and I will continue to do it. Hats off to those that pursue rallycross, I definitely will spectate if it comes to fruition.

Dude, wtf? I'm not trolling you, I just want to know what kind of setup you're running?

I remember a long time ago there was a gc running tein rally spec suspension, but don't remember anyone else going that route.

chee doggie before the drama gets out of hand lets all just step back take one collective big sigh and be thankful that this is even being considered!! rally x YESSSS!! im not gonna go and talk all this talk and what not about how im gonna just kill it at the rally x track because honestly ive never even driven on an actual rallyx track but if you KNOW me then you know the way i drive (very safely on the street and respectfully otherwise...) but have been known to take my car "offroad" and all im saying is boy is it fun!!! i am more than willing to beat down my car as it is for sure not a garage queen i bought the thing to "drive" it if i break stuff....oh well buy new stuff...and learn while driving and hopefully getting some input from peeps who have experience with this type of track.....as far as MY setup im gonna have to say ill be swaping out susp. parts for sure!! prodrive springs ftw!! oh and adding a full skid plate as well to protect my vital unders!! hehehe oh and as well as swaping out my front bumper too as im sure if we even get the chance to rallyx that would be the first thing i would break!! i guess all im asking is that if this actually happens.... i need pointers and am all ears and not an elitist mentality to make me or anyone else feel "un wanted" this is something i have been interested in for a long time and think it would be sooooo fun so lets pray for the rallx gods to smile upon us and make this happen and to whoever is going to be responsible for this endeavor thank you so much!! for even considering this type of track here in hawaii!!

Who's putting the rally-x events together in hawaii, or is it still at an "lets see who would do rally-x by raising your hands" stage.
