The Official HIIC Martial Arts Thread

Hey all! I started a martial arts thread in BAIC and I was thinking to myself, I'll bet there's choke people in HIIC who practice or enjoy martial arts too! So why not "Find the right gym/dojo, perfect that one throw you've had trouble with, start learning a new style, discuss recent trends, find your soulmate.... er, scratch that last one " as it was in BAIC?

I'll start this one up too:
My style is Muay Thai, which in my opinion is the strongest striking style around. But more than just that, it's a window into Thai history and culture! From the attire of the fighters to the opening ceremonies of the Wai Kru and Ram Muay, Thailand's rich history and culture come alive every night in stadiums all over Thailand.

More info on Muay Thai: www.wmtc.nu

Unfortunately, I've been too busy these days to go back to my gym so I've been training independently to just retain what I've learned thus far

i still train with HMC kickboxing and Nova Uniao jiujitsu...competitions out of da question...shoulder is all **** up beyond repair...held together by bolts n ****...i agree muay thai is the most brutal, but I LOVE IT...as far as ground style is prefer Nova Uniao over Gracie (no offense to any gracie style grapplers) more aggresive but of course a down side to over agressivnes...chokudori how long have you been training, im up for doing some training outside of the gym, since my striking has been in development for a few years, im just ****ty as stand...im more of a grappler since im japanese (height advantage is non exsistant)...us asians are lower to the ground=better grapplers

submissions INC baby!

been out of practice for a while, but trained w/ a 80 y/o filipino man who taught me his style, then he passed away leaving me and his two other students without instruction. took hap ki do for a while, but sensei was korean, and i didn't understand him, so the language barrier. if i had free time i'd love to meet up and train with some of yall.

WRXed has been talking about sparing with me and wanting to kick my ***.

I told him I'd go take some jiu jitsu with him and get pwned. It's all good though as I'm sure it's a hell of a workout.

Only problem is that I'm all big and not very flexible now so I will get all messed up by anyone with decent grappling skills...god damn man boobies!
