yeah I know about the stickers, I had to take mine off my truck. They are just pretty strict on tint and license plate height, but that is soon to change.

Thanks no recon for my car unless I have to. Pfulger had to give me a saftey check today because they screwed up my registration. He didnt want to give me it since he stated that my exhaust needed recon, but I schooled him on some of the laws. Then he issued the check with no problome.

I hated recon. Had to do it twice when i lived there. I figured they wouldve done away with it by now.

The only reason why I got recon is because I needed it to get rid of the stupid ticket(s). The dude was super nice to me. He did, however, do the suspension test but told me that he understands the new sports cars have stiffer suspensions. I went in with outdated alignment papers too. Haha... but I passed. My overall experience with them was a good one. Just be polite and don't dress like a street racing punk.

I don't think you need recon for or have to worry about the exhaust thing. hawaii doesn't have an exhaust law anymore. you can run a straight pipe and it' won't affect your recon. as always, don't give them any more info than what they ask for. you can have stickers on your windows as long as they are transparent and don't block any view whatsoever. as long as they and you can see through them. recon in this state will always be a big debate issue.

I have lived in Hawaii for 7 years and I have never once gotten a recon or ticketed for not having a recon. I dont care for them and I dont care to give my money to the state of Hawaii and not see things like the roads being improved. Its all sad cause I know the cops here are not getting a piece of it either cause I constantly see them working at construction sites on their time off to make ends meet. All the cars I have owned have all been lowered, rims in excess of 2 in. from stock, and aftermarket exhaust systems installed. Additionally I dont drive like an a$$ either to attract attention to myself but when I have been pulled over I always play dumb when asked about my mods. Its amazing what an out of state drivers license, a military ID, saying I didnt know any better, and that I just got on island will get you.

Damn, I wish I could do that. They take one look at me and already know I grew up here. Must be nice. From what many people say, as long as you're not driving in waikiki, you should be okay. The cops don't really bother anyone outside of waikiki unless you're doing something dumb.

Recon did miracles for me man. me just driving speed limit and doing nothing wrong would get me pulled over. but now that i have recon cops dont bother me any more. they tail me then drive away. once a cop even asked me what kind of suspension i had. i was like WTF! but seriously no joke recon is the shizzle

I got tailed by 2 cops tontie in Kapahulu. It was lke one tailed me through the bottom half of kapahulu and then the other one took over for him at starbucks and followed me up to market city.

My car is all legal, stock height, 17s and catback exhuast that is 95 db compliant.

got mah recon takin away few months ago from dis solo biker. he sed dat mah ride was "ridiculously low." I slammed mah car right after I got my recon.hehehe he checked mah papers and saw dat I dropped it lower. he had confiscate my recon papers and took off the sticker.
