State law had also set the minimum license plate height at 12 inches, but the House Transportation Committee noted that some low-slung sports cars have license plates lower than that.
Lingle also signed into law HB 1158, which allows special enhanced sentencing for arsonists charged with setting brush fires smaller than 10,000 square feet.
The old law, passed to discourage brush fires, had set the limit at 10,000 square feet or more.
Lingle also signed into law HB 613, which increases the state Veterans Services Advisory Board to nine from seven members and makes the Office of Veterans Affairs director a voting member.
Also signed into law yesterday was HB 1393, which permits government agencies to delete home addresses before disclosing payroll and contracting records.

you might, actually, if your springs are "too stiff" like a lot of guys including mine. but i've heard of people getting past it if you get a lenient inspector. there is A LOT of debate about how fair and scientific these recon tests are ask anyone here, we've all had our share of misfortune with these stupid things.

Big deal the 12 inch plate height was the easiest rule to get by....just mount 'em by the bottom holes for inspection, then change 'em back after.
The real BS rule was the minimum 2 in. of suspension compression, measured by pushing down on the hood and trunk. F*^k, if I could do that my car would float like a boat on the road. I hear though that they've been more lax on that rule.

when i did recon on my mazda they didn't check for cats (good cause i wasn't running any tee hee). said that intake and exhaust doesn't matter, they just checked suspension travel and the headlight & plate height.
also, you can't have stickers on any of your glass. if you got a tint strip on the front window, make sure you measure from the outside 4" down. the tint guys measured mine from the inside and it was 5" down from the outside, recon guy made me rip the tint off.
