New xt owner!

Hey guys/gals, just got my XT the other week so hope I get a chance to meet some of you folks to get some info on a few diy projects. My question is I just picked up these oil filters and hope they are the right ones. Did the Fumoto valve and used the Walmart synthetic oil, don't flame me lol. Thanks!

Congrats on the pic up! Always wanted an SG XT so I'm pretty jealous!
Check out subaruforester.org too, there's a lot of valuable info on there regarding Foresters.

the KYB GR2 and swift spring combo is probably one of the better choices if you want lower and mild/medium performance. you won't get as low as coils but it won't be as stiff either. make sure you read up on the STI swaybar before doing it unless you were planning to upgrade to the STI aluminum links also. you don't want to snap an endlink tab. grats on the nice XT

in looking at the rear sti sway bar, you pretty much need to change mounts and endlinks. Would you need to change the lateral links as well? I'm just doing daily driving so I'm thinking may just forego that and get the swift springs. has anyone changed the rear sway? i'm thinking it would change the driving characteristics of the car but can someone confirm? thanks!

Yes u can just change the mounts and end links, no need to change the lateral links. I bought the OEM Sti mounts online at subaruonlineparts.com. Don't forget to lube the bar at the bushings

Congrats...

Saw that car on CL and thought...hmmm...hopefully a fellow I-Clubber picks it up...on windward side right?

Enjoy...My son Blaise's XT is a blast to drive...you'll like the potential of your fxt...we just installed a UEL header/uppipe and will be throwing on an EBC also for this upcoming PDX tune...we've already done many of the common mods done to the forester...usually from a donor STI...including the turbo/tmic/exhaust/intake/rsb/struts and a Cobb AP2...

Have fun...there has been a recent surge in FXT owners!

Rear sway bar made a noticeable difference for me. I didnt put lateral links on.
FXT is a blast to drive more so than the GD I once had and maybe on par with the LGT I had at one time too.

Used rear sb parts hard to come by and I bought everything new from Subaru mapunapuna for around $170 for everything. You may get lucky on subaruforester.org, but shipping the swaybar itself maybe expensive.
Install was easy and I did it with the car on the ground.
