So then why does the 4200 almost always out perform the 4400 smart guy? The specs don't always tell the whole story.

Does anyone know what causes the screen to lock up, turn of the monitor, turn it back on, then act normal until it does it again?
Try a different monitor. I know this may not sound possible, but if a monitor cannot support the resolution specifics of the video card it will act strangely. I had an issue with a GF2 I used to have where the screen would freeze for a split second about every two seconds. It ended up being the monitor and its lack of resolution support. Tried a different monitor on the same resolution and it worked fine.

That would have nothing to do with it if he can turn his monitor off then back on and it works. Try it anyway though.

it blanks out for about 3 seconds.
then the computer works again.
it goes faster and faster until it performs a memory dump and XP takes a crap.

Wow. And you bought a new gfx card, right? Maybe it's time for a really good chkdsk /f and if that doesn't work an XP re-install.

The proof is in every test I have physically seen. I have seen many in action and the 4200 always out performed the 4400. Even my friend's computer which has the identical parts mine except for the 4200 outperformed my 4400.

well, taking that you seem to think that Ti4400 sucks, you can think whatever you want. I have the Albatron Ti4200 8xAGP and its still isn't as fast as my Abit Siluro Ti4400. A stock Ti4200 wouldn't even come close.

Hey theworx

My internet ***** is bigger than yours!

OK, that might be a bit uncalled for, but seriously, knock it off. BoOm happens to be one of the HIIC computer experts. Coming over here and copping an atitude just makes you look like a ****-monkey. Again, knock it off.
