New stereo for my WRX?
#17
if you are fine with the sound of the system now then just upgrading a deck wont hurt your sound most aftermarket decks put out around 18w rms and that should be just fine to run the factory speakers.. it will sound around the same if not a smidge better

Thanks, that's just what I wanted to know. I was just worried 'cause the Subaru sales brochure for the 05 Impreza lists the stereo as 260 watts... I figured that was BS, but I didn't know how much it was exagerrated. Like I said earlier, I was afraid that I'b buy a new head unit and it would sound worse than the stock stereo. Now I feel a little better about picking up a new stereo... thanks again.

yeah thats a little inflated probly puts out that much while the radio is getting struck by lightning crutchfield ould be a good bet, you get a free pocket and wire harness i would recommend alpine(partial cause i work at a dealer) i love their ipod interface really fast and everything is controlled and charged by the deck id go with a cde-9874 or above i think crutchfield has the 9874 for 149(we sell for 179)and the ipod cable for 29 (we sell for 35) lmk if you have any other questions
