I have to say I kinda like it. ya its got a bit of the mazda 3 in it but its the meaner side. plus i know that i hated the wrx and seeing it in person it looked alot better, so this might actually be pretty nice in person. most new models take time to get used to. I didnt like the 06's at all when they first came out and now I do so I guess only time will tell.

They are trying hard to get back into WRC as something else besides 'an also ran'. They need the hatch formula to make it work. The problem here is not the hatch ~ but the safe and boring redesign, eh?

Looks like a mazda 3 front with a lexus RX330 rear, dropped and bmw "M"-ized, oh and let's not forget the mazda RX-8 wheels!
Resemblence?

Don't like the clear tail-lights, the fender flares really make the car look muscular compared to the standard WRX. I wish USA got the 8,000 red-line with 2.5L on the STI, yet the interior is much improved. I havn't seen a '08 WRX dropped with wheels yet but I bet it would help a lot.
My next Soob is going to be a Legacy, hope they don't F that up in the near future!

Much more befitting the STi image. As with all the previous incarnations, this one is also growing on me. I definitely like the new interior. Hmmmm, if I could just start a new loan....when it is available state-side, a test drive is definitely in order.

I'm still not "there" with the new STi. I just came from a hatchback to get into a 4 door sedan. I don't see myself going back to a hatch.
As for the styling. IMO the STi still needs more...I don't know what it is, but it's not "in-your-face" enough for me.
