<-- new guy w/ some Q's
So I'm new to the whole modding aspect of cars, I've only done aesthetic stuff, and I'd like to find a place around here that can help me out.
I drive a pretty much ( engine-wise ) stock 05 out of state wrx and I'm lookin to pretty much upgrade whatever I can.
I was told brakelines etc, fuel lines, and my turbo should be pretty much top priority, but like I said, I have no idea what I'm doing or where to get it.
I live out in mililani if that helps at all.
Anyhow, thats about it for my questions, thanks for reading = )

1st off, welcome to HIIC! Most of the HIIC consist of members on the West Side and K-town(Kaneohe & Kailua). There's quite a few of members in your vicinity if you ever need any wrenching done. That aside, its totally up to you about modding but R&D Automotive are Subie specialist so they are highly recommended amongst us local Subaru Community. BAC you have Virginia plates??

Welcome to Hawaii! Like most have said, if you're looking for suspension/engine mods, check out R&D's. But, if you're looking for wheels/tires, shoot me a pm, I got a couple sets available that you might be interestedin .
***Some will chime in after they read this, but I'm what you might call.......a wheel *****. Hahaha.

drop in filters are crap- the oil will cover your MAF sensor and it wont actually flow as well as stock
fuel lines are pointless- simply put, its money spent that'll get you nothing
intake is pointless unless you're pushing HUGE numbers- most CAI will screw with the MAF, SRI suck in nice hot air
My suggestion would be:
Power-
VF34 turbo
catless up-pipe
catless divorced wastegate downpipe
cat-back exhaust of some sort
tune
Suspension-
Front and Rear swaybars and endlinks
koni strut inserts and better springs of your choice (most will suggest coilovers, but they are overkill for the street)
wider wheels/good tires
Then of course SS brake lines, better pads, Stoptech or DBA rotors (DBA's are great if you're going to be tracking the car, otherwise stoptechs will do)
Big Brake Kits are overkill for the street/minimal track days like coilovers.

Welcome to HIIC! Car mods vary greatly as they are dependant on the driver. Are you looking to increase your driveability around town? Give yourself a ton if top end power for those onramps? Or are you just looking to firm up your ride and improve handling? It all can be had with a different set of mods.
As far as the basics go, probably the best mod you can do for any car is a nice set of tires. After that, drop in filter, CBE, springs. For all of your nodding needs R&D is the trusted source for parts and installation.
P.S. Brandon is a wheel *****.

Welcome to HIIC. Hopefully you can make it out to the "meats" (meets). There's one just about every friday night at various Starbucks locations. It'll give you a chance to meet some of the HIIC members and put a face to the screen names. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Aloha,
Shawn
