i thought that all the dealerships deal with one distribution center? so isnt it the same?? i also looked like i didnt kno jack sh*t over there, it could be another way to show them that they cant bs their reasons with me and let them work on my car. i would be ordering from the same knucklehead who gave me this and that for my parts being broke... i should have requestd to talk to the mechanic directly. ic what u mean tho, why give them bussiness?? lol

anyway, in my situation, id rather spend the money for my tools for this coming semester of school which is about a nice 2200 bucks. at the moment im planning on replacing the parts myself if i cant get them to do it under warranty, which i know is already gone... Ill just buy the parts from them after i recover from buying those tools for school. Im also not the kind that will fight but im gonna try to do what i can. For now, im gonna drive with a broken steering rack
i can say, it has it quirks as every job has. as you say....do what you love to do for a living, when your in a flat rate shop, there is no love, because theres no guarantee 40 hours a week, can you feel the love? hustle your *** each and every day because your service advisor will either make you or he can break you depending on the jobs he/she gives you. now can you really do this task for 10 maybe 15 years? if your lucky, youll find a hourly shop so you can do a good quality work and not have to worry about making hours.

ive noticed hourly rates have gone up quite a bit in 5-6 years. yet our pay only went up maybe a quarter at the most a year. wtf is up with that! yup, were the bottom of the food chain when it comes to trade skills. you dont see a carpenter doing 8 totally different tasks like an automobile. if automotive techs had a union specifically for their trade like carpenters and electricians, we could command some pretty demanding pay along with power.

during my younger days, i used to have customers just pull into my stall and ask if i could fix something really quick. no repair orders or anything. i used to do this for a while. they would just leave after that, no thank yous or compensation. now, i open my hand ($) before i do anything, no repair order - no repair. why should i repair their cars for free with my low pay that i have to buy tools with. you get the pic.

perhaps you can get a job with pfleuger subaru. you could be the inside man to help everyone with mods....
