welps, justins cames overs todays and helpsed me's withes da brakeses.... anyway, we made decent time and got it all knocked out. everything went pretty well and we only stripped one nut lol. aparently the incredible hulk did the last brake swap.... we took it out for a test run and everything went fine until we almost died due to not fully tightening the lugs haha, but now its all good. the pedal feels tighter and the brakes are gripping harder and im sure will only improve as the pads and rotors bed and wear in.

the only thing is that the e-brake isnt as strong as it was. i will adjust it maybe tomorrow afternoon. the adjustment is made using the gear inside the brake assembly behind the little rubber cover at the back of the roter cover.

you can adjust the ebrake cable by taking off the center console area where the ebrake handle is and there is a 10mm nut there. you need to tighten it down and that'll also sharpen your ebrake

Jon

- I hope you guys weren't romping on the gas and brakes since you just installed it.

1. true.... but it was the hulk's fault not mine.
2. yous didn'ts remids me, but alsos trues
3. me eithers

-and to answer your question jon, we broke in the pads strictly to the specifications of the manufacturer and then after only went fast a little i was exagerating about us almost dying. a couple of the lug nuts were just starting to come loose, it wasnt anything catastrophic. also i'm leary about using your method to adjust the brake because it was fine before i losened the gears, so i think i will just adjust them in reverse order and see if that works first. plus thats what the manual says to do.

my suggestion was a method to be able for the ebrake to engage lower when pulling the ebrake. If you adjusted anything pit it back. Dont be Leary about my methods, as I dont just spout random things. Believe it or not I do know what I'm talking about.

lol i know jon, i wasn't implying that i was leary of your method, just using that method to fix an adjustment i made somewhere else when it should probably be undone there first. if that fails i will definitly give your method a shot. thanks tho duuuude.

well, i got the ebrake adjusted and its holdin strong now and everything else is runnin great.

i am really impressed with those SS lines from machV, they look great and are of good quality with teflon lining and good connectors. they also come with all new hardware including the banjo bolts with washers and retaining clips, all for a very reasonable price. i can definitly tell the difference in pedal feel and as the pads continue to bed in they just get stronger and grippier (thats is too a word!). overall i am definitly happy with the results and hopefully i'll be able to test em out at auto-x soon. thanks again justin and jon for the help.

including, but not limited to, hot shwetty manseks.

Jon, do you have extra set front WRX rotors, by chance? I have wrx calipers for the leggy, no rotors.

Erica has some SS lines, and etc. to go on so there is some good info in this thread, so thanks.
