Money; I know you didn't join the military for money...
Nuke program is/was a 6yr enlistment. Most rates that come with a "C" school are 6yrs. As the fleet assumes things, Nuke school is where they send those with aptitude but little common sense. There is no freedom for common sense in the Nuke program. Everything comes with a set of instructions.

If you guys have any questions let me know.

I am a Personnel Specialist and Command Career Counselor and will NOT steer you wrong.
Don't believe everything you hear from "Sea Lawyers" sometimes they give bad (very bad) info..only because they do not know all the facts.

Anyways, the offer is out there, let me know if you need anything.

Boot camp is meant to see how much stress a new recruit can take.
Keep that in mind.

I breezed through it back in 1993, and it has improved in some regards (battle stations gives you some great simulation training). It is alot different now than it used to be, so I really can't say how hard it is, but I suspect I had it worse...

It's a kinder gentler military now a days...

Get in shape (if not already) push ups, sit ups, run...1.5 miles try to get in the 10-12 minute range at least.

8 weeks...tough it out. the being away from home factor plays a big part.
