I don't

drink coffee, and don't want to hold hands with you guys. Talking smack over a beer is another story. I agree with Mike (18hrwrx), some of my best posts aren't posted because I think better of it.

I'm not a big coffee drinker either, and I don't want to hold hands. I just feel that this subject would be better discussed in person.

San,
Nice move on saying you dont drag race after claiming that you'll see me on your rearview, dont mention stuff like that when you cant back up your ****!!! Oh and by the way, I'm not bashing Speedgear, Im sure it takes a lot of expertise to build a 9 sec FWD honda...I, like every other sensible person out here am just disappointed with the early results and would like to see Nate run 11s eventually!

I'll try

to make this extremely simple. I don't drag race. Never have. I do go to track events, you know, where we use the entire track (as in go around in circles). Time attack, long track, autox, etc. Entirely different events. Get it? Once again, I've talked to the owner of the car in question, and the car is not tuned for the parts it has, period. That says nothing for the potential it has. Really not much else to say. I hope this is clear enough.

OK simple minded person...San, youre the one going on the wrong track here...claiming youll see me in the rearview! I dont talk **** about autocross and dont claim that I'll beat you there, and you have absolutely no credentials to say anything about beating me at dragracing. I used to autocross 5+ years ago, and I know driver skill has a heck of a lot to do with performance - I am a pretty decent driver and dont claim to be better than others, I just dont want to expose my car to that much torture... I know how much abuse a car goes thru an autocross! Get it?

It is far more abuse for your car on the 1/4 mile. Subaru transmissions are not made for the drag strip, especially WRX 5MT tranny's. It is still possible to take them to the 1/4 mile and run them if you can slip the clutch properly. Our AWD shines on the full track, and for all of you that have never done AutoX, Super Lap, or a track day you need to get out there. If you want to see how far you can push your car that is where to do it. Once my car gets straightened out I will do only a few 1/4 mile runs before never taking it on the 1/4 mile again. I will track the car every chance I get, but not only is 1/4 mile boring, it also takes less skill than some real track driving. JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS: My car is tuned, however Ryan and I are currently troubleshooting a boost issue. My car looses 90% to 100% of it's boost at 5500 RPM's. There for since my full powerband is from 5k to 7.8k I am loosing damn near all of my power. Ryan thinks that it is my AVC-R's boost solinoid. It seems it cannot hold the boost pressure. I am no expert so I don't know. We are tracking down a manual boost controller so we can see if the wastegate is functioning properly.

For all of you arguing about the dyno. If any of you every showed up to the tracks you would see there are maybe 15 to 20 hardcore subaru enthusiest that push their cars, either on the 1/4 mile or the rest of the track. JT The thing that you plug into your cigarette lighter is not a real dyno, and you cannot use it as a substitute for a real dyno. I think that there is a way to have a profitable AWD dyno here, but I know most of you would not be willing to pay it. Just for a ECUtech tunning licence it is around $10,000. So by the time the dyno is set-up, we have real tuner trained and certified, and all kinds of etc. we will be looking at a $200,000 bill. I know that if we had a friendly dyno here that was AWD it could be profitable, if not in the dyno itself by attracting customers with the dyno and then them buying other things in the shop. You guys should listen to Mike because he knows what he is talking about.

I knew that with a upgrade as large as I had done there would be a few bugs in the system. That is just a given, but once they get worked out the car will be a beast. SO DID THE BET GET SUSPENDED?

Actually I did the tuning and Phil did the driving. It was a training/tuning session with him. Basically teaching me how to tune the Utec. I learned a lot about it that day.

But I must say that it has been a long time since I actually looked at the utec and I am sure that I have forgotten more then I should have.

18hrwrx, not looking to argue at all. I am more about learning then fighting on the net too... I just like to get interesting topic out there to talk about. The more you learn the better off you are.. I wouldn't mind sitting and talking at all.

STiNightFall, I am still running the stock topmount with intercooler hoses... I am still not "allowed to buy" a FMIC. My best time on the mainland was a 12.8 @ (I think) 105mph. It was over a year ago so I am not sure if it will still run that or not? I have tuned the car to run a little better since, but you never know if I can still pull that off. I am not the best driver when it come to dragging the car. Very inconsistant. One minute I run a 13.3, then I will run a 13.6... then bang I am in the 12's. I don't spend enough time at the drags to get it exact.

keirnna, I am not knocking that kit at all... I hope you get it running right.
