My skin is too white so I'm coming to HI
I have a few questions which I'm sure a search could find but I'd just as soon get some more recent feedback, and I'm lazy and enjoy other people doing things for me. Anyways, I'm heading to Honolulu from Vancouver, Canada in 2 days and would like to see something I haven't before. I've been to Maui twice but never to Oahu. I will be there for two weeks with my GF and although she has some ideas of places she would like to go, I have no clue.
I would like to check out any local shops if there are any just to see what's available, cost differences from here etc. (I work at a shop in Vancouver). If anyone has a recommendation I would love to hear it.
Second would be any good beaches that are not clogged with tourists. I surf a little but that is not a criteria, just somewhere nice and quiet where I can relax with the GF and not have a bunch of loud tourists kick sand on us.
Also, any recomendations for decent places to drive at night for a romantic evening (I have to remember not to get the sub-compact rental car this time).
Also, any meets or auto-x's during the next tweo weeks that I could check out?
Thanks for any info.
Jamie

These are just two local shops alot of people like SpeedGear there are always real freindly and try to get the best deals. Munkywurks, they just recenlty started selling or really selling Subaru parts or at least showing a interest. As far as beaches I like Ko Olina can't surf they are lagoons but really nice. I'm sure others will have good suggestions. Hope you have a good time.

Gravy, as long as there aren't too many then I'm happy...I guess I am a tourist myself although I like to think of myself more as a traveller than tourist. Oh well....I appreciate all the ideas. I probably won't be back online before I go but if there are more ideas feel free to post them. And thanks again...if you see a tall white gy with a mohawk and goatee and really white skin covered in thick-*** sunblock sporting car t-shirts (sti, DMS etc etc) say hi.
I'll give a synopsis of my trip upon return if I have anything interesting to pass on.
Cheers

Thanks again, now I'm really outta here. Gotta pack in shiz, then I leave at 7 freakin' AM! I gotta wake up at like 4am to get out to the airport on time. Also My ghey flight goes from Vancouver down to Portland OR where I change planes to fly to LAX then finally over to Maui where I get to change planes again and make the jump over to Oahu. All in all about 12 hours for what is a 5-6 hr flight. BUT, it's free and I get to go business so I can get ripped drunk, mouth off the flight attendants, have an F-15 escort the plane and get my *** kicked by a bunch of security guards when we land cause I have a beard.
Sweet, can't wait for some sun, it's been rain and cold here for the last week.

You know, there needs to be 2 stickys that say
"If youre relocating to Hawaii"
and
"If youre coming to Hawaii on vacation"
since this questions is asked time after time. We have all linked so much information about what to do here and on all the other islands and also for people moving here. Not sure where all the old threads are, but if someone cares or has time it would be nice to dig them up and just have Joey make em sticky if possible.

So I'm in Hawaii, having a good time, it's definitely warmer than Vancouver but....holy rain batman! Anyways, I'd still rather be here than Vancouver. I've seen a few nice cars but mostly tourist renters and such. I just rented a car yesterday so finally I can go see more of the island and all the ideas you guys gave me of where to go. Thanks much once again. I'll post a post-trip-synopsis when I return to buck-cold Vancouver.
