My reverse lights

Ok so since I have gotten my car here, I haven't been able to pass a safety inspection. The reason is my reverse lights not coming on when I'm in reverse. I bought new bulbs at first and that wasn't the problem. I got an electronic diagnostic done and they said it was my back light switch, so i got that replaced. They did work so i went to go get my safety inspection done and the light were out when i got there which is the 2nd time it's happened to me. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've tried so much to get them to work so i can drive off base but no luck.

Best thing you could do for now is just hook up a toggle switch for your reverse lights. That way you can get your safety check and then try and figure out what the problem is later.

you may want to check the physical spider harness in the rear of each tail light. if you can borrow somebody's that you know works replace it to test.

when I wired Astin's tail lights on his GC I racked my brain for hours thinking I had the wrong pin outs to bulbs. of course a bit later Astin comes around and is like oh I have always had problems with the tail lights. sure enough once i swapped the spider harnesses out everything worked fine. it turns out the physical connection between the bulb and it plug were worn out due to normal wear and tear. this was on an old GC body easily 10 years old. yours being a bug eye it is possible it has worn out.

anyhow GL and maybe this will solve your problem

The previous owner did it for the mods. i have no contact with him unfortunately and my friends father did the wiring for the amp. As for meeting, i'll be out of pocket till the beginning of oct. If you could arrange a meeting then to look at it i would be more than grateful. I'll pay as well. And i'm stationed on MCBH

I'm willing to take a look. Not saying that I have a solution but I have a pretty good idea. Just let me know when you're available and we can setup something.

I had a similar issue years after I did my swap. Fixed it and didn't have problems with it after that.

I am betting either a short or splicing done badly...OR a bad solder.
