Shaggy, this is the guy I told you about, he crammed the ver 7 cluster into his GC. You're right about the slope, my legacy is the same style as the GC gauges. You're going to have to cut the plastic ring around the cluster to get it to fit.

but the problem is that the subaru he did it to was a rs which had a bigger cluster longer and wider. mine is short and skinny and on the part that he had to cut out i don't have i would have to cut my power rearview mirrors out in order to get it to fit but then i'll still have huge gaps on all four side left right top and bottom

There was an instrument panel/dash change in the Imprezas in 1998. So that is probably why the WRX cluster shape is close on that RS. You might have to fabricate a bracket/bezel.

Shaggy, if you can make it, come by Vakamon tomorrow (Sat) I'll be there from around 11am til whenever. I'll get you the bolts and e-brake handle, and we can discuss other things you (and I) need.

ya know, just a thought (BTW: awesome job...), when all this is said and done, you should make a website out of all this, make it sort of a tutorial/info site...i think with the level of updates youve given us, you surely have the material for it...you should do it!
