Thumbs down My car has arrived

Well, I finally got my car today! But Matson did a number on the hood and doors. Quite a few scratches all over my poor baby. Both Driver side doors side skirts hood rear quarter on driver side tore my front lip off!

BLAH I almost cried! So I'm filing my claim and what not! I'm guessing she'll need pretty much a whole new paint job. So who does a great job? I'm guessing they are gonna low ball my claim. The adjuster was a douche.

Just curious... which shipping carrier did you use when you had these problems? I have finally worked out the kinks and booked my Legacy to be shipped via Horizon Lines in July.

IIRC, Matson insures up to $8000 in damages. Horizon on the other hand only covers $500... and then tries to sell you outrageously priced marine insurance (and terrorism insurance ). Fortunately, my regular comprehensive policy will cover any damages during shipping (although I will be devastated if my pristine car is damaged).

Sorry to hear about your car... I would be crushed. Is your car lowered? How much ground clearance does it have?

try Northland shipping if leaving the westcoast or Seattle. Gave me insurance coverage up to $75,000 in the deal and I got my own container..

Yea its lowered... maybe 5 inches or so. I'm sending my claim in so it should all be ok.

Valet mode...

I would put your valet map on as your base map Mike...the savvy ones know to unhook the battery terminal if they want to reset your maps...

I would flash in the valet mode map as your base map so they cannot exceed 2500rpm's...heh heh, have fun with that one...there are a bunch of bastards working the shipping yard...

My guess is that the damage was done on the truck ride for New Orleans to Cali or at the VPC.....

I used Horizon...

to bring my car from Anchorage Alaska to Honolulu.

It costs a bit more, but they put the car in a sealed container...minimizing damage caused by driving the car on the ship...I've seen those setups...it's scary man...

Go Horizon.
