My car got towed...

Sigh...mkay...was parked on the street. Board of Water Supply needed to do something near my car and called the cops to have them move it. (At first I thought my car got stolen!)

Was towed a good fifty yards, on its rear wheels, then reversed into a side street and into a parking stall. I was not very pleased to hear this.

Do you think it's a short enough distance where nothing got messed up? Or should I go get it checked out?

Im not the expert, but DAMN!

What the hell were they thinking towing an AWD car, jesus... Woulda been screaching the tires the whole way. Cant believe they wouldnt call HPD and run the registration and call or something.

To the people who towed it --->

Was it in gear?

If you had it out of gear with just the e-brake on, there shouldn't be any damage.

Hell Yeah,

If you are not illegally parked they can't do crap to your car. Don't drive the car anymore!!!! Have the car towed to Ed at Subaru and have him look at it. If anything is wrong with it, the City just bought you a car!!!!

if they towed your car while you were legally parked and they didn't put it on a dollie, you have the right to sue them. and like pat said, it would have been making screeching sound the whole way and the tow people should know that it needs to be dollied up. do you have the awd sticker on the rear of your car? it should, and they should have checked/know. i'll have the dealership check it immediately, those things can cause tremendous damage.

just watch out they'll say they dollied it. you need the dealer to back you and say they found a problem only caused by not being towed properly. if not they'll say it was already like that.

good luck.

**** that just made me mad to hear. ****en tow trucks.

no, i wasn't parked illegally...

no, i wasn't in gear, just the e-brake...

yes, i still have my AWD sticker on my rear window.

and yes, i was VERY VERY upset...

i've got a contact person at the Board of Water Supply...some kind of supervisor.

so yes, i'm definitely not paying for anything that is related to that stupidity...

isn't it really irritating that there are SO many stupid people in this world...grrrr....

No, not really. They make me appear to be so much smarter than I really am.

Good luck with your car. Hopefully the dealer can make a determination on what, if anything, has happened to it.

More than likely there's no damage (unless they hurt the body while they were moving it).

I'm with you, though. I'd be hella pissed if someone touched my car w/o approval.
