MY '05 GT Legacy didnt start tonite
I went back to my car tonite, jumped in and tried to start it. It wouldnt turn over. I tried 3 times and the third time, I gave it gas while cranking and it turned over and started.
I head of people having problome when its really cold out, but I live in Hawaii.
Why would this be happening the car has just about 3000 miles on it, its an auto, and has a fresh oil change (one week old). Any input, should I arrange an appointment at the dealer?
If I gotta book a dealer which dealer does the best and most reliable work?

I dont think the connection on the battery terminal can be that dirty...you can check the battery with a volt meter to make sure that it has at last 12 volts,.. and more like 12.5v when running or more the better,..
But, if you gotta crank it and get nothing while turning the key, take off the battery terminal and clean it with a wire brush and/or terminal cleaner (spray) if it has acid buildup and then use a battery terminal spray to protect the connection from further corrosion,..
I swaped to a Red top cause Costco had em (Yellow top there now and is better) cause I have HIDs now too,..

used to use the blue tops for sounds. I had 2 in my truck and had a third lying around. I got the car going now. With the blue top the optima cranks the system even stronger now.

the red top battery is the only battery that should be used for cars in general. when you change to the blue or yellow top your running the risk of frying your starter. there are a couple of things that you'll want to look for on the battery and one of them is CCA or cold cranking amps. If you have less CCA on the newer battery that doesn't help your situation.
The blue top is generally used for boats...etc. and I believe the yellow one is for campers and trailers...etc.
using the wrong battery could severely damage your engine.
Since your car isn't that old and is an 05 you might want to think about using your warranty and having the stock battery in the car. if you go in with an optima battery you might have warranty issues with your electrical system.
You might want to check your alternator since that what charges your battery when your car is on and runs are car when your going.
with the stock battery, mine lasted quite a while. though it sucks it still does require maintenance. check to see if the water level of the battery is above the metal pieces in each slot. be careful since the liquid in there is acid and you can burn your hand from it. if all of those are ABOVE the metal pieces in there make sure that the battery terminals are cleaned well. They do sell a battery terminal cleaner (not spray) but a brush that cleans the terminals clean of debris. Make sure the battery connection is on good and that you have all your ground wires connected well to the chassis. disconnect any electrical equipment that you've installed after purchasing the car since it could cause additional draw from the battery.
