Moving to Kaneohe!
#46
Welcome!!!
i'm stationed on pearl harbor, and i'm army here is how my car shipment and registration went:
when i picked it up from the docks, i had 30 days to register it.
when i got my safety inspection, i had rims and my subie was lower a little bit but they didn't give me any problems.
when i went to register my subie, i had a non-residency form, and with that it costed me like 5 dollars to register also, i was allowed to keep my texas plates because my texas insurance doesn't expire for a while. but i had to put a vehicle permit sticker on my bumper...
if you decide to switch plates to Hawaii i think the register fee will be about 20 dollars, so no biggie
thats all i can remember right now... i'm a little tired so forgive me if it's hard to understand i hope that helps!
ps: if you want that non-residency form number, let me know and i will dig around and find it. i'm not sure if this form is the same across the services, but i think/assume it is.
