Talking More Testing And Tuning At Hrp Tonight!

Now that I've got the car back to where it oughtta be... its time to tweak it a lill bit more tonight at HRP! Better launching may help get my E.T.s down, also I think I can improve on my 12.61 @ 107.4, w/ a 1.73 ft time from last week (@ 81F temp) HOPEFULLY!

Went out to the track tonight for the first time. Right after I finished work today I went ahead and installed my tbe. Lovin' how she sounds now!!! Well I guess I was kinda happy with the results. I was hoping to be a little quicker but this is the first time I ever drove an awd down the quarter mile. I tried to slip the clutch off of the line with the revs at about 5k. The best time I could get was 13.617 @ 96.75 mph. I know my time was all me but I thought that the mph was suppose to be higher. I ran 3 times and besides my first run which was 94.89mph the other 2 were at 96.xx mph. Well here are my times in order:

Reaction
60'
1/8 ET
1/8 mph
1/4 ET
1/4 mph

.792
1.924
8.868
75.88mph
13.873
94.89mph

.770
1.805
8.661
77.57mph
13.617
96.75mph

.784
1.798
x.xxx
xx.xx
13.642
96.79mph

Is that 1/4 mile mph normal or is it slower then normal? Right now I only have a tbe and like I said earlier I just installed it just before I went down to the track (don't know if that makes a difference). I don't know I just gotta get better and see if I can bring my times down.

Thanks Jose. So with a better launch I will be able to get my time and my mph closer to what you are putting down? Looks like we have the same setup. Just wondering.... Any tips?

Me personally I launch the car at 5k...and shift every gear at 6k...and thats about it....make sure you are quick when shifting to 5th, because thats the toughest gear to shift at in order to get a good run... dont hesitate... but like I said its all practice and timing...sometimes I still hesitate in 5th gear, so its still all good...thats about it...hope that would help a little...Jose

did you reset your ecu after the install? if you did give it a couple of weeks to learn your car should get a little faster. if you didnt i'd advise it...just disconnect the negative terminal on the battery pump the brakes a few times and let it sit for about 10 minutes or so. 1.7 reaction is good for someone who is just learning to launch a awd. with a launch like that you shouldn't have a problem getting sub 13.5's...goodluck
