I can certainly appreciate your appreciation for that bird from a pilots perspective. It IS a flying tank. From a grunt's perspective, actually having one of those green or grey angel's come and bail me out in, a real world perspective, I have much love. I'm not a whiz at foreign AC (like I should be...I know most of the most common, though), but I don't think that the old WP countries had anything like her.
By the way, how is your entrance into the military flying ranks coming along?

Believe it or not...the closest aircraft the russians have/had to our A-10 is the Su-25T; later the name was changed to Su-39. They obviously look nothing alike but the specs are very similar. And the Su-39 even beats the A-10 in some ways, and they both share the 30mm cannon.
There are many countrys that have these currently including Iran, N. Korea, Russia (obviously) and many many others. Iraq even HAD some.
