Unless the state (OHIO!) DOT sucks ***. The 7 hr trip took us 12 hrs. Indiana which got hit the hardest had the cleanest highways. Ohio had a stretch of 90mi prior to Akron where we didn't go over 15mph.
There was always at least one lane open, but then the 2nd lane would have all sorts of crap and ice all over it so that it was a real risk to use the 2nd lane. The third lane was mostly not scraped nor salted at all.
Well anyhow, we made it. It was clear from the Ohio/Pennsylvania state line onward. It's cold but bearable. Christmas was nice.

Other Pat - I was in Ledyard, CT (southeastern corner of the state, home of the infamous Foxwoods Casino). As of this evening I am back in HI.
Here's a couple old pics of the '99 2.5GT I used to have, playing in the snow and playing on track:
(Note the stock 2.5GT wheels are not so good for deep snow, as they immediately become packed with it and are then out of balance once you get up to speed on a clear road).
