megan or D2 coilovers
Hello. Wanted an opinion from those whose drive on our awesome C&C of Honolulu Roads. Does anyone have any experience on either of these coilovers? I am leaning towards the megan, only b/c i want ( well the wife wants) something more civil on the road for her car. She does not like my tein flex's at all. Opinions wanted. (it's for a legacy and not an impreza platform, if that helps)
Also, testing waters, but my 2004 wrb wrx wagon may be for sale. Pm me with info if interested. Too many things to list, but i will and post pics if interested. Do a search , there are pics of my car posted around.
I Want a 2 seater now.

^^^nice car...
Daniel, Ojichan STI is running Megans...32 adjustable positions and the ride seems very nice...I detected no clunking or any sort of noise...his car rides very smooth and quiet...I like it.
shoot him a pm on his take on them...

Not too sure on the current models if any changes have been made, but I have D2 coilovers and from a perfectionist standpoint, i'd say the Megans are better.
The D2's do not have screw on brake line brackets; they include 4 metal "forks" with holes for a strut bolt to go through. You'll have to bend and make your own brackets.
A friend of mine has Megans for his civic, and the 32-way adjustability is pretty precise with tactile positions for every selection rather than the D2's continuous click free adjusting valve.
They're both made in Taiwan though, but if you're not worried about where it's made, then it's all good.

yo just be careful chris. the megans are great for the price but don't be fooled, the 32 way means abot 3 really noticeable ones and all of them are stiff. all in all they are very good coils though. i have had them on my GC probably longer than anyone and i have yet to have any problems. go for it dude or tell sue to come for a ride with me....

yeah, i don't think i can sell sue on coilovers yet. Although the zerosports have a 5kg/5kg spring rate, that might be promising, but may still be too stiff for her.
On a happy note, i got my clutch replaced!!!

BL5 models are kinda limited to date. Still deciding.
A quick question for you guys. So the spring rate is the travel of the strut to the bumpstop. So, if mnost manufactures advertise 10kg front/ 8kg rear, then 5kg/5kg would be more "slushy", therefore allowing more travel of the strut to the bumpstop? (which would make it the best option for someone wanting a "softer" vs. "firm" ride)

the spring rate is the amount of force per distance of travel for the spring. the higher the number the stiffer the spring. for the legacy i'd recommend going with a "softer" setup to keep your wife happy.
