grats man. let us know how it feels when you get it installed. haven't changed the clutch on my car since i bought it and has about 60k now. with the new turbo and the way i drive, who knows when i'll need a new one

P.S. if you dont have one i would reccomend picking up a SS clutch line. this would be the best time to install it and it should give you better pedal feel and help decrease any extra effort the stiffer clutch may add. lookin forward to the review

I had a friend that installed my clutch and flywheel for free. I'm sworn to secrecy. He is/was regarded as THE Subaru mechanic by most of us "old timers". I'll say thanks again my friend, you know who you are.

Just wondering if the shipping rate was reasonable from GruppeS?
My car needs a new clutch soon and I was thinking about getting a lightweight flywheel and ss clutch line while I was at it too.
BTW... congrats! Would love to hear how your new clutch is. I was thinking about getting an Exedy sport clutch too.

I just checked Gruppe-S and they don't seem to have much products for GC8 Imprezas...
Oh well... I found another site that does $675 shipped for GC8 Exedy Sport clutch and Exedy Flywheel combo... just a few bucks more.
Just gotta grab the SS clutch line too.
www.z1auto.com for those other GC8ers out there.

hey, just a thought but if you do go with a SS line i would reccomend the Mach V brand from fastwrx.com. i think the reason they are so much cheaper is to promote their brand on their website. i havent used their clutch line but i went with their SS brake lines and was very impressed with the quality. definitly a huge difference in pedal feel and they are holding up great. plus you cant beat $29.00 bucks brand new. gl man.

I did my first clutch job in about 4 hours. 5 speeds are easier. but 6 speeds arent that bad. you can do them easily in 3 hours no sweat. if your good probably less then 2 hours.

so the clutch was installed this past weekend with a help of a friend ( im sworn to secrecy )...everything thing went as planned nothing major happend...it was pretty simple and easy...once the old clutch/flywheel was off noticed a lil burn spots but actually clutch/flywheel was still good.. the stock flywheel weighed around 28lbs compared to the new one weighin in at 15lbs..put everything back and took it for a test drive..feels really good..revs much quicker and i was suprized by how soft the pedal is..i was expecting a lil stiffer after driving a friends that just had his done... well it's in the break in proccess now... i took a few pics...
