my wife and i own a home on the big island, paying rent here in kailua, and have 2 subarus. we are trying to sell our home there so we can buy a home in aiea. we have a 3 year old foster daughter which we will adopt in march-
because of this my cars have become 2nd place to everything else. after getting married in july of last year my priorities have changed a lot. thats why i try not to get invloved in the clique' when it comes to modifications.
maybe after we own 5 or 6 properties will i justify dropping loads of $$$ into a hunk of metal, glass, plastic and rubber- that only depreciates.
in term of your frustrations- i feel it somewhat... if you have not read it yet, read rich dad, poor dad by robert kyosaki. good book. and puts perspective in where we should put our money. i am slowly working towards the concept of making my properties a liability and not my largest asset...
