in light of all the negativity...

thanks to all of you who make HIIC a great place to be.
thanks to all the willing and helpful members
thanks to all the veterans who take a backseat and retired their flame-throwers for the nOObs to make some presence
thanks to the new guys for continuing to support this site by your presence
thanks to all my customers who have logged on and become my friends

thanks to all the military personel who find the time to post on here- in light of their daily duties- you are appreciated
thanks to all the businesses who have made HIIC a vendor supported place
thanks to the "elders" trying to make some positive suggestions/adjustments here

we all have differences, and we all have a passion for AWD... let's try to continue to remember our passion and look past the bad- and those who log on and are possibly driving questionably....please be careful...our driving habits will always be under scrutiny simply because of the type of cars we have-

as alex puts it... Happy Motoring

There has been a lot of negativity lately...

Cars getting stolen, bad drivers...this island is getting way too crowded for sanity to abound...

I need to take a step back, look around, and enjoy what is Hawaii...I'm going to try and slow down a bit and try to enjoy life....

Thanks for the reminder Greg...

I guess now we have so much stolen vehicles...etc. since it's that kind of crowd that is with us now. the age range / mentality and lack of respect for other peoples property (taught) is what makes our cars a victim now. it just pisses me off to see how LOW this club has become and how much disrespect we now have from what we did have.

Jon

- on a side note. a lot of people from this generation (speaking generally) don't respect their elders, other peoples property, teachers...etc. this why things are they way they are.

I agree with you Jon on this one. Nowdays, very few ppl respect their elders and authority. I'm only 19 and I see a drastic change with those that are just a few years less my senior. I guess it was because I was raised in an asian household but I almost always (unless they did something to deserve disrepect) respected my elders, teachers, authority and what not.

This is why I think America will go to ****, perhaps in our lifetime. Sorry to keep rambling, I'll stop now.

greg, thanks for that, it was well timed. amen brother!

now, to the "maturity issue." i must agree, i was raised in a strict household where respect to elders and those deserving was paramount. and i like how when i came here and visited some of yall at home, i see that same principle. America needs more people and families like yall. i think its amazin that some of you guys 19/20+ years old still livin with mom and dad. back in the states that makes you a loser, but i think its awesome that you are still willin to live with your parents and help out and whatnot. i WISH i could still live at home...my mom needs it. im ranting, im sorry. point made.

no matter what happens to our community.... it is inevitable that more and more people will join among our ranks- i mean how long were you guys planning on this exclusivity?

like i said earlier i could start a whole new thread(which i have been guilty of before) about how suby owners are goin down the tubes....

but what's the point of it all? it only brings me down when we keep bringing this stuff to light over and over again... i mean we all see it everyday..some people are actually the cause....

but bringing this stuff back up magnifies it and just adds salt to the wound.....
hopefully my thread brings some good things to light... whether in the past or future things to come. blake... lets do something again... meals on wheels? care home visits? somethin...

oh! and i forgot to mention the HPD guys who have graciously offered us insights and advice as well..... you guys are appreciated as well!!

+1 for the positive reinforcement

well there are some good and bads to be said about that issue. you say that at least we're not in the mainland but the mainland comes to us. lately mainland companies have been buying out so many things here and have been making changes to our island that it is starting to BECOME the mainland. The more people that come here form the mainland with expectations on how they want to live in hawaii makes it a problem for the local residents here. of course I'm not talking about the military folks just the people that think that they own the place when they come here then eventually live here and create little versions of their ownselves that have the same believe to corrupt our beautiful island!!!

i'm done on this subject!
