Lemme hear from the RS dudes
Man, this car is fantastic. edit: see this thread Sure, there are times when I am expecting some power but it just 'feels' good. Especially on the ice and snow. I'm surprised how well the 4.11 utilizes the 2.5 so well.
I may put my 2.0 swap on the back burner and investigate the potential of SOHC's and pistons. I'll just reuse my old manifold. I imagine that the VF30 would be too small just like in the 257 but maybe low/mid power is something worth looking into since I should have the TOP FUEL WAGON on the road in a month or so. (I'll probably break it again anyhow.)
I'm finding that while I'm thinking mainly about suspension (the swap was just a thought I've had for a long time, but not necessarily on the front burner) but I really like the way it handles already. I'll have to see how it does around the cones. BTW, while the all-season Bridgestone Potenza RE950 with UNI-T AQ II are FAR better than the 92's, the 50 aspect kind of makes them roll around quite a bit. They're still not AVS nor KDW.
I am thinking down the road of going ghetto with some Koni's or KYB AGX and Eibach, but you know me. I'm still pricing/comparing full coilovers. Gr8Wheels has some Ohlins for pretty cheap. I just wonder how interchangeable all aftermarket Impreza struts would fit. Anyone experiment with '02-on struts on a 99-01?
I'm going to go out and drive some more...since I still have my engine on the hoist (no stand) and those cam gear bolts just won't come off.

Pat, I really like the wheels the car comes with. For me if I wanted track wheels that were 17's I would go with some Rota's. As far as suspension I would go with Cusco's Zero line. I love mine. I really would not mess with the power. We both have seen what happens to our cars when we go all out...

Speed Star SP1's - $381, Fox 2 Sport - $144. I need to find used. I'm drawn to black, naturally but I am really interested in gold. I believe I remember Joey having Gold on his RS and I think it looks sweet.
Dan, I've got most of those parts out in my shed.
Nathan, I like the stock wheels too, but I think that it's a good idea to have an additional set in order to have some good rubber on.

Pat I am looking at this set-up a guy on nasioc has, and he used a EJ22t block, along with fully forged internals, and then attaced the block to the 1998 2.5 DOHC RS. I guess sort of what you did with your 2.5 block. I am VERY interested in doing that if I do not just buy a JDM swap. I still need to pick up a manual tranny.
