Legal Tint Question

#1 What is the legal % for Hawaii
#2 Does it apply to all windows or just the windshield and front driver/passenger side windows?

Really need to get a safety inspection and I don't want to go down there just to have the guy fail me.

#1) 35%
#2) It applies to all windows, and in Hawaii, it's illegal to have anything more than a strip at the top of your windshield.

Good Luck

for cars : its 35% + or - 6% so the minimal the meter can go down to is 29%
front windshield needs to be above the AS1 line.

for trucks/vans : front windows needs to be 35% + or - 6. AS1 rule in effect as well for the windshield but the rear and sides can be as dark as they want.

I would leave as is unless you dont want to be harassed by cops..They probably dont have a tint meter with them and you can always tell them its legal. Getting a safety check would be the only thing to worry about unless you know someone...

Is that < 20%,..sure looks like it in the rear or maybe just the angle?...

well if your a baller ...you can leave your dark tint on @ be ticketed something like $287 per window that doesnt pass...if caught of course...though this will usually be the start to pull you over and look over @ your vehicle for what other things might not pass or be illegal.

youd be surprised @ how many window meter tester they can purchase after a few windows/car cited ...easy money...CHACHING!!!
