Laser Shifter - Escort ZR3 (Q's and things)
Hey guys -
Since Laser Shifter's are legal in HI, i wanted to know if:
1-anyone thinks it's worth having? (Since HI cops use laser exclusively; though i wonder which model gun is in use)
2-is the Escort ZR3 any good (wondering if anyone's got experience with it specifically, i know escort is a great radar detector brand, i use belltronics now though)
3-is an escort zr3 with one front and rear sensor each worth $150?
4-are there bigger and better deals I seem to be missing? (honestly just checking ebay/google shopping/craigs)
Mahalos!

Im not familiar with the escort, but if you want laser reviews its best to visit dedicated forums on the matter for an actual and tested review.
I had "experienced" 2 different brands, the older model blinder m20 and newer style LI Interceptor and work as advertised.

definitely true abakja, i checked around and the zr3's been a good candidate and only replaced by newer models (nearly 3x+ the cost for newer models)
I suppose it's a decent deal for the price - knowing that HI tags with laser keeps my radar detector in the glove compartment anyway...

Also another helpful hint is that if you finally decide which brand to go with, do a web search as there maybe another car or other forum having a group buy. I got my LI on a BMW forum after joining the forum and asking if I could get in on the GB. Saved $200 compared to retail.

There is a group buy on the laser interceptor on the BMW M5 forums,...
This is where I got in on one for my 370z last year...It was tested better than the Blinder, but it detected a lot of other things other than being laser tagged which I didnt like as it has voice alert and startled me everytime it went off...Sometimes simpler is better as the old Blinder M20 I had only went off when I was being lasered. The LI is software upgradeable and detects a lot of other things. I may search for the Blinder again as it is cheaper, but one can always turn the volume off or down on the LI so not to be alerted to other detections than laser (photo radar alert was one I got but dont know why in Hawaii from the LI).
