Just installed new APS CAI...
Ok, so a few guys wanted to see what it looks like...
First off, let me say, this is one quality piece! Thanks to Bran808, I was able to pick this up off of NASIOC.
The tolerance on this CAI is incredible...it barely fit in the opening as you can see in the pics...I used a bit of duct tape around the edge to help dampen the vibrations and also to avoid scratching the crinkle red finish.
The brackets were very nicely designed and it even included one to reroute the cooling lines over the intake tube...
Here is whats cool about this intake...after doing some research, it turns out that the pre-2003 APS CAI intakes required tuning...after 2003, APS redesigned the intakes to match the characteristics of the stock airbox...you can tell if you have one of the new intakes because it has a 65 stamped on the inside lip of the intake...
The sound is incredible...I can now hear my APS 50/50 bov much more clearly...and my car seems to pull harder and faster...
I will be attempting to datalog my results and send it in to PDXTuning to see if anything needs to be adjusted...
Here are some pics...Remember my passenger side foglight cover mod...well, it's really working awesome now with this intake...
BTW...this is an older pic of my car at Keehi lagoon...in this pic, it is sporting a ZeroSports Grill...I now have a C-West V2 Grill...that scoops air into the stock funnel and dumps that in the intake area as well...I may get rid of the stock funnel as it may be causing too much turbulence in that area...I'll be experimenting...

I've had one of those intakes for a while now since I run their FMI
Good CAI. However, what is the number that is on the inside diameter of the pipe? Is it 70 or 65? It would be on the side that has the filter connected to it. According to APS this will determine if you need engine management to run their CAI or you can just run off the factory ECU
