Would Waipahu Subaru be more forgiving, therefore it would be better to take our cars there for servicing? Even though they're a part of Schuman, I would think they would be a bit more lenient towards aftermarket stuff, being that one of the managers there, Chris, seems pretty cool about it. Doesn't he have a wrx wagon with some mods on it as well? He gets people to go to the autocross too, right? I may be mistaken, so someone else please chime in on this. Crap!

Go to waipahu and maybe ED can hook you guys up just dont bring
it to the the main-shop, and yes i work at schuman IS2SCOOBY, as for you INFEK you might have to bring it in to the mainshop to do the parking recall, but i will try and check with ED on that if they do that dwon at waipahu.

this sucks!!!

One word:

STi

Come one, well all have an extra $35k in our bank accounts, dont we?! =)

Course the urge to mod the STi will still be there. The car already rocks, but what would it be like fully modded. Ugh...

a stock STi is still gonna get it's a$$ handed to it by a modded wrx, given equal drivers, etc.

and no, Chris does Nothing with autocross. And he is sales, Not service.

How badly? I mean the stock STi has 300/300 hp/torque. How much does it take to get a stock WRX to that level? It comes with what about 225/225 hp/torque stock? So exhaust, up/downpipe, what else is needed? I mean if I took a stock WRX for what $25k and put another $10k into it are you saying it would kill the stock STi? That makes sense, but with the STi you are getting the Brembos, BBS and other interior niceties and you arent killing the warranty either...

Thats true about the STI but still love my WRX, because you have more pride when you work on the car to make it go faster, then just buying one thats all ready fast. but everbody has there own opinion.

I completely agree about working on it yourself. If the modding wouldnt void the warranty I was still seriously thinking about getting a WRX and putting the extra 10K into it, I mean a stock WRX with 10k in mods would look so much nicer and more unique than a stock STi. Im all about a warranty which is the only reason Im leaning towards the STi. Maybe I wont get on the list and the decision will be made for me. I also wanted Red and thats not an STi option. Gotta love decisions... =)

So did he actually say no matter what parts were on the car you could take it to Waipahu and they would do service and not record the mods? Would be nice, but what happens when you actually need a warranty to be performed. <crossing fingers>

My modded WRX costs about the same as an off the showroom STI. Given current spec estimates I'm making 15% more power, over .5 sec faster in the 1/4. Only problem is that everyone and their momz has one.

But with the STI you get exclusivity, brembo's, 6MT, DCCD, center mounted tach w/shift light, 2.5l, twin scroll turbo, better seats, etc, etc.......

Warranty wouldn't be an issue in most cases because most will mod their STI, especially after getting spanked a few times by a modded WRX and therfore warranty will be void anyway.
