JIC Coilovers

They are stiff for a DD....So I have been tinkering around with the JIC coilovers that came with the car I bought used. I know that the STI chassis is a lot stiffer than the LGT I had before that I had GP Moto CO on, but I had to make some adjustments to see if I can make the bouncy ride a little more tolerable.

I measured and had to adjust the rear springs till I couldnt compress the springs with my hands and tightened collars for the least amount of presprung tension. I found out that the springs were flopping around as they were not fixed in placed by the collars and was causing this knocking noise ever since I got the car. Fixed that problem. Fronts were set fine and only thing left to do is adjust the **** settings.

As is, the front and rears are 8 turns stiffer from the softest settings, and they turn up to 17 max. I set up to 8 turns to match the compression with the stiff springs. I will try to adjust the setting down to 4 turns and see how that goes.

Lastly, when researching JIC coilovers, I saw on YouTube and on Nasioc these coilovers actually broke in half on the older models. Its a concern for me as I dont want this to ever happen to me on the freeway and wonder if I should look for another used set.

Any feedback on the matter?

I rode in that car when Brent came to Maui for the purchase. Try getting some softer rate springs. They should be generic diameter. Try Sprint springs, Eibach, H&R.

im assuming it broke from the collar in the fronts? may be you could get different sleeves or something. idk if i heard that would happen to my coilovers i would immediately replace them regaurdless of cost, or just not drive it until i have money to replace. up to you though!!!
