Thanks for the offer guys, but I think I'm going to wait for the rest of my parts to come in before I install anything

Downfall, my DP just came in today. You think we can get to that after your suspension? If not, I'll just take care of it sometime this week.

Sorry I just saw the second part to this when I was looking for the install date. Did you apply any grease to the linkage's rubber boot? It's the boot that the shift linkage that connects to your new SS. I've read that because you're changing the angles that, that linkage operates at when using a SS the linkage tends to rub on the rubber boot. I've seen some people cut or trim the boot to increase clearance and I've seen some people apply grease to the boot, i.e lube . Hope this helps with the whining.

No I have not tried that, Its a really weird sound that comes an goes from 4th or 5th gear. I'll have to take another look i'll be applying more grease to it as there was not much when I unistalled it, thinking I could just reuse the stock grease. Also my kartboy SS came with a black bushing inside the shifter, should I have used the Stock bushing from the old Shifter?

No, you did right. KB's come with TIC bushings now IIRC.

As for the noise, I'm not a GR guy, but on the older ones a short shifter will often hit the metal surround. That would make a whine/buzz maybe.

The bushing that came with the SS should be good. If you're in no rush, I'll just bring some extra grease and we can lube that puppy up too at the suspension install.
